These are some of the crafts I made in the workshop. They’re a Cabinet and a Chair. |
Ah, the Middle Colonies, they're the greatest… Oh hello, I'm Fred Johnson. I'd like to talk a little about myself if you have a minute. I was born in Virginia in 1720 and have a brother who now lives in the Southern Colonies named
John Johnson. I now live in Jamestown, Maryland, which is part of the Middle Colonies. I'm a wealthy craftsman and have a wife and 3 children: John, Taylor, and Tina.I have so many chores I can't even count them. I cut wood, churn butter, and clean the dishes, etc.
In my spare time I do extra work. I make puppets, and I even write music. So far I've written: "Coffee Grows on White Oak Trees," "When I First Came to Land," and "Hurray Lie and Old Bangun."
I have a big house on a plot that is 21 by 24 feet. My house is 16 by 18 feet. It's two stories and was built for me in 1742, when I was 22 years old and working as a craftsman.
There is still one thing I haven't told you about myself. It's what I make. I make chests, desks, chairs, tables, and cabinets out of native cherry, maple, oak, and mahogany.
"Hey, Fred."
"What?"
"Get back to work."
"Okay, be there in a second."
Well I guess I have to go now, bye.
