Parkview Kids Can--Always Believe You Can

What Does the Parkview PTA Do?

The Parkview PTA sponsors curriculum enrichment support for students by coordinating programs in Art, Math, Debate, Music, Foreign Languages, and reaching all class levels with early release days enrichment classes. In addition, the PTA provides funding to those students who may not be able to contribute to the costs associated with all classes going to educational performances held at the Mt. Baker Theatre each year.

Parkview parents volunteer their time to coordinate a variety of programs including:
-- Art History for all grade levels and classes,
-- Artist in Residence Program where each year
-- National PTA Reflections Art Program
-- FLAN (foreign language classes before or after school)
-- Math Club and tutoring
-- Primary music program for the 1st and 2nd grades
-- Cornwall Park Science program in fall and spring
(taught by Tennant Lake staff)
-- Debate Club

Curriculum Enrichment funds also provide additional support to each teacher at Parkview for classroom enrichment activities, for enrichment supplies that benefit all classes in the school, to purchase books as incentives in Parkview reading recovery programs, the kindergarten sing-a-long, the choir accompanist, and always set aside funds for a possible new enrichment program that we may be able to offer to the students.

Programs offered each year are dependent on PTA parent coordination and involvement.
